Viindoo AI - Chat Assistant
Bring the AI assistant straight to the user, wherever they are working. Open
the side chat panel from the top bar, assign an assistant to a Discuss
channel to get automatic replies, or press Ctrl+K to ask a quick question
without leaving the current record.
What it does
Install this module on top of viin_ai_agent to give end-users three
convenient entry points to talk to any configured AI assistant:
- Side panel - a chat icon in the top bar opens a drawer on the right of
the screen. The user can ask about the record they are looking at, and
responses stream word-by-word like a typewriter.
- Discuss bot - attach an assistant to any Discuss channel. The assistant
reads the channel history and auto-replies to messages, acting as a
full-fledged channel member.
- Ctrl+K quick ask - from anywhere in Odoo, press Ctrl+K and type a
question. The assistant answers in a popup without the user having to
leave the current screen.
Every answer includes three small feedback buttons (thumbs up / down /
flag), so product teams learn which answers worked and which did not.
Key Features
- Real-time streaming - answers appear incrementally as the AI writes
them, so users never wait for a full response. Streaming uses the Odoo
bus.bus transport; a SSE fallback is available for external clients.
- Action approval dialogs - when the assistant proposes a Sales action
marked as Ask User Before Running, the UI shows a compact approval
card listing exactly what the assistant wants to do. One click approves,
one click rejects, execution happens only after approval.
- Context aware - the chat panel auto-injects the current record (form
view, list selection) as context so the user can ask "summarise this" or
"what is wrong here?" without copy-pasting.
- Built on Odoo native UI primitives - OWL components, bus.bus,
commandProviderRegistry, Discuss bot framework. No external dependency,
no third-party widget library.

Requires viin_ai_agent (which requires viin_ai and
viin_ai_rag). Not auto-installed - customers choose which front-end
channels to enable.
This software and associated files (the "Software") may only be
