Freight Customs Deadlines

Adds the customs milestones a freight forwarder has to hit on every cross-border shipment - and reminds the shipment owner before each one expires. Built on top of Freight Forwarder Management; install it only if your team files customs declarations.

Key Features

Export customs block: declaration due date, actual submission date, actual clearance date - shown only once the shipment is confirmed, and only on export shipments.
Import customs block: customs entry due date, submission date, and clearance date for shipments without containers (LCL, air, break bulk).
The export declaration deadline is validated against the departure of the leg that actually binds it, reusing the existing cut-off rule instead of the whole-route ETD.
Automatic to-do activities before the declaration deadline and before the import entry deadline, assigned to the shipment's responsible user - shipped switched off, turned on in one step (see below).
Every field is context-aware: nothing shows on a draft shipment, and the import fields never appear on an export shipment.

Turning On the Deadline Reminders

The two reminder rules are installed switched off, so adding this module never starts filling a live database with activities before you ask for it. Switch them on once:

Turn on the developer mode: Settings > General Settings > Developer Tools > Activate the developer mode.
Open Settings > Technical > Automation > Automation Rules. The list already shows switched-off rules.
Open Shipment to Customs Declaration Due, then Actions > Unarchive. From now on it raises a to-do one day before an export declaration deadline.
Do the same on Shipment to Customs Entry Due - it raises a to-do three days before an import entry deadline.
Optional: change Delay (and Delay mode, which reads Before) if your team wants a different lead time. Your value is kept when the module is upgraded.

The reminder arrives as a to-do activity on the shipment itself, assigned to its responsible user, and shows up in that user's Activities. To stop the reminders, archive the rule again.

Benefits

Avoid late-filing penalties: the person responsible is reminded inside Odoo before the deadline, not after the fine.
One declaration, one record: the declaration lifecycle is tracked on the shipment, so three containers never carry three conflicting dates.
No screen bloat: teams that do not file customs simply do not install this module, and their shipment form is unchanged.

Before You Uninstall

Uninstalling removes the customs columns from the database, and the dates recorded in them go with it. Export the customs milestones of the shipments you still need before uninstalling.
