Odoo Community Edition (CE) intentionally hides a number of “accountant-grade” features. This module brings back the missing building blocks so CE users can run a more complete and controlled Accounting system.
Key Features
Enable full Accounting menus & capabilities for CE users The module activates the hidden Accounting feature groups so your finance team can access advanced options without Enterprise.
Fiscal Year management (flexible fiscal years) Define fiscal years that may differ from a calendar year, and let the system compute fiscal year ranges accordingly.
Advanced Fiscal Period Closing & Lock Dates (with Hard Lock + Exceptions) Manage multiple lock areas, aligned with Odoo 18 behavior:
- Global Lock (Lock Everything)
- Sales Lock, Purchase Lock, Tax Lock
- Hard Lock (irreversible, never bypassed)
In addition, provide Lock Date Exceptions to grant temporary and auditable access for a specific user and lock area (Hard Lock is never overridden).
Stronger audit trail & operational control * Track posting datetime on journal entries. * Recognize/flag manual direct journal entries to improve traceability and internal control.
Accounting roles & access rights Provide practical roles aligned with finance operations:
- Auditor (read-only)
- Accountant
- Accounting Administrator
Attach supporting documents on accounting records Attach files on key accounting documents to improve audit readiness and evidence tracking.
Known Notes
If you have the Enterprise “Account Accountant” module installed, please uninstall it to avoid conflicts.

- Search with keyword to_account_accountant.
- Press Install.

Configure user access rights
Add new user access rights in accordance with the different accounting roles in a business:
- Auditor - Readonly;
- Accountant;
- Administrator.
Usage
Example: A process of goods purchase > receive goods in warehouse > sell goods (delivering and invoicing), review newly created journal entries applying the Anglo-Saxon Accounting.
- Step 1: To have the above workflow up and running, other than the to_account_accountant module, you need to install the following software:
- Step 2: Configure the product category and create a new product.
- Step 3: Create a purchase order and receive products at the warehouse.
- Step 4: Create vendor bill and review accounting information.
- Step 5: Create a sales quotation, sales order and deliver products.
- Step 6: Create a customer invoice and check accounting information.
Other features
- Recognize manual journal entries.
- Attach documents on each bank statement record, payment, and journal entry in the system.
